You have all been very generous with your knowledge, and have helped me
complete several projects. Among them is this venerable Gonset
Communicator. Its a bit less common than most, in that it is the CAA (FAA)
version. Ive been having fun this week listening in on some of the tower
traffic from the local airports.
If you click on the link, its about a 30 second video of the old girl in
action.

Sweep generator recommendations for boat anchor IFs

Interested in hearing some specific recommendations for purchase of a sweep
generator that can be used to align low frequency IFs (50.75, 60, etc).
I dont need lab grade -- just something that will do the job on the half
dozen radios I tinker with in any year.

Swan 500 Faults

Hello all,
I have a Swan 500, which I restored and has been working perfectly until
recently.
At the moment it will still receive and transmit with the following
problems.
1. The receiver takes up to 30 - 40 seconds after initial power on to hear
the normal background noise level.
2. The receiver once powered up will take 10 seconds to return to normal
background noise level after transmit button is pushed.
3. There is a loud high pitched sound that seems to be related the RF gain
control...

FT-100 auto power off

Has anyone had their FT-100 power off after no use in about 4 hours? Is
there an option to change
the time period? It would help me to monitor the radio a bit longer.
