Well every business buys at a lower than retail price and resells Duh,, com=
mon business practices now as far as an item not working, it was either sol=
d as such or being old electronics like you see in the pictures below,, I w=
onder how you would feel if you sold one and after a journey of say 3000 m=
iles by UPS or FedEx and it arrived with a broken tube for example,, what w=
ould you post "oh Martyn Screwed me by selling a non working radio,,, What =
ever dude...
Okay, a couple things here.
First of all, if you are shipping UPS, you need to be able to pack the
thing so it can withstand a six-food drop off the back of a loading dock,
because it's going to experience that.
That means pulling the tubes, packing them individually in bubble-wrap,
packing the equipment itself in bubble-wrap, and double-packing it. If
it's something very heavy like an R-390, it needs to be crated and
internal wooden supports made to prevent the PTO from shifting when the
crate is dropped.
You cannot just toss a piece of equipment into a box and expect it to
arrive at the other end. In addition, you cannot toss a piece of equipment
which is clearly broken and urine-soaked into a box and tell the buyer
that it works perfectly.
I understand that proper packing and proper checkout of equipment is
difficult and expensive, but it's necessary. And even so, you cannot
blame the urine-soaked Hallicrafters on packing.
I understand that buying low and selling high is what made America great,
but you can't allow your desire to buy low and sell high reach into the
point of either misrepresentation or corner-cutting.
SO I was at Dayton, sold over 5000 handhelds and 500 mobile rigs and it app=
ears was the talk of the show? 90% of all the equipment I took there (over =
$250,000) sold :) thank you to all of those who purchased equipment from me=
there.
I would gladly buy something from you at a hamfest. But I will never, ever
buy anything from you online where it's impossible for me to verify the
condition and the packing.
Well you bunch of whiners on here go shove it as I say, if you have a probl=
em with me man up and say it to my face if not then go shove it,, oh re gun=
s,, yes I have a good sized collection,, my QTH is good on all the callsign=
lists,, come take a look my callsign is K4TEC
Come to Richmond Frostfest, and I'll say it to your face, and I might buy
something from you too. I gave up trying to get the money back for the
Hallicrafters years ago but I'll still bring it up to you. I don't hold a
grudge enough to not buy from you at a hamfest but I sure as hell will be
very careful if I do.
Finally Nick why were you presently surprised? were you suckered in like so=
many to the lies and negative comments? oh I heard this from a friend of =
a friend etc?? when in fact its BS started by one of the famous dozen radi=
o-mart haters
The problem is that you are creating new radiomart haters as you go. One
bad transaction can turn into a whole lot of very angry people, whereas one
good transation only turns into a single happy person. That's why avoiding
offending your customer base is so important. Shipping them urine-soaked
radios is not going to earn you good publicity.
