You are probably looking for Crystals for 40 Meters, or possibly 80
Meters. Higher frequency crystals were a bit more fragile, and maybe
more expensive as well.

Those old rigs normally used lower frequency crystals and multiplied
their frequency. For example, a 7.025 MHz crystal would also be used
for 14.050 MHz, 21.075 MHz and 28.100 MHz.

Indeed. Even if the rig doesn't have a multiplier, you can often operate
the crystals on an overtone. A set of 80M FT-243 crystals will usually
work fine on 40 and 20 but may be less than stable on 10.

Incidentally, replying to to the messages forwarded from QRZ is futile,
since the people who post them can't see your replies. The QRZ->boatanchors
gateway is one-way only which sort of defeats the whole idea of discussion
groups....

Scott-

It is frustrating. It seems there are fewer and fewer real messages
posted. The ones posted by QRZ are really just the title, with a link
to the actual discussion.

I thought there might be some value in replying here, but the only ones
reading it already know!

Yes. The fellow reposting the QRZ messages claims that it's better than
having no posts at all and makes the group look full. I disagree, but that
is how usenet goes. I just have my killfile set up so I don't see them,
only the replies to them.

I'd love to see more talk in this group. Mind you, I should be out trying
to get my No. 19 Wireless set working instead of reading usenet...
