I would never buy a used FT-101 unless I knew the origional owner. Ws
told by a dealer of used ham equipment that too many of them were owned
by the CB people and many had been pushed too hard, modified and golden
screwdrivered.

Other than that, nothing wrong with them.

They were popular with the CB people as they would transmit on 11 meters
with just a clip of a wire or something like that.

I wouldn’t let that stop you. There’s a few hams that don’t turn screwdrivers, and there are CB ops who do impressive work.

Just be thorough on your questions.
